Christopher Hayman has been Managing Director of Seatrade since 1986, and Chairman since 2005. He has been actively involved in the development of the company, including its publishing, conference and exhibition businesses, for general shipping and the cruise industry, as well as waterfront development, the superyacht market and other areas.
He has been involved in the development of the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention in Miami since its inception in 1985, and has been active in developing Seatrade’s businesses in Dubai and Singapore; as well as its activities in Europe, Asia, and North and South America. He has also had an active role in Seatrade’s management training activities, based at Cambridge University.
In 2007 he was awarded the John Lancaster-Smith Award for services to passenger shipping.
He has a degree in Modern History from Oxford University and started his career working in radio and television for CBC in Canada.
He is married with two sons and a daughter, and lives in Suffolk.
