Seatrade have been organising cruise forums around the globe for over 10 years. The first forum was held in the UK and subsequent editions have been held in Singapore, Hakata, Ushuaia, Dubai, Malta, Athens, Bahrain, Durban, Istanbul, Izmir, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, Tobago, Oman, Qatar and Cartagena (Spain).
These forums often delve into the heart of key topics being discussed in the cruise industry.
The Seatrade Caribbean Cruise Forum took place in May 2015, and was a unique one and a half day event tailored to showcase the Caribbean to European Cruise Lines.
The event provided participating cruise lines with an intimate knowledge and understanding of the region, to help them to assess the possibilities for deployment and increased port calls. This two-way educational programme also enabled the regional port and tourism authorities, and other cruise industry stakeholders, to better understand the infrastructure, port, service and shorex requirements of the cruise lines.
The Conference element focussed on:
- Current scope and future potential for cruising in the Southern Caribbean, challenges and opportunities
- Infrastructure and development
- On-Island product development
